Going through a divorce is not an easy event. The length of the divorce case would depend on many factors.
Some of the factors would include whether the parties have children, assets, and properties. It also depends on the parties willingness to get the divorce finalised as soon as practically possible.

If it is a contentious divorce with a lot of issues and the parties are unwilling to compromise, the parties will experience a lengthy court battle than those who are more agreeable. On the other hand, if the divorce is uncontested, where the parties are looking to resolve their issues amicably, the divorce can be finalised within a short period of time.

Couples with few or no assets, no children, have few decisions to make and should be able to settle their issues rather quickly than couples with many assets, debts, and/or children. For a quick and smooth divorce process, it would be in the interest of both parties to agree on as many issues as possible. This would help alleviate the court in making arrangements on behalf of the parties.
